Summer is flying by! As usual, we've stayed busy at Johnson Family Farms. We recently wrapped up our fungicide applications on both corn and soybeans and we are turning our focus towards harvest. This past summer we harvested our first wheat crop since the mid 1990's. We received upwards of 13" of rainfall on our wheat the last 60 days before it was harvested, but surprisingly it yielded very well and we intend to grow wheat again next year. Soon the kids will be going back to school and we even have one headed off to college for his freshman year. We've been blessed with "good" weather so far and feel like we have a crop comparable to what we had last year. With Labor Day being later this year, we are planning to begin harvest soon after Labor Day.
